ART, ARCHITECTURAL METALWORK IN LONDON
Look once, look twice and you’ll realise Bruce McLean’s artwork forms the outline of a female face. Eye-I in the heart of East London links to this iconic stretch thanks to the artist’s use of steel.
We were commissioned to fabricate the piece from a scaled down plastic model in 1993. Records show a 100 man hour project, with many beam bending machines and props to hold the piece together to Bruce’s approval.
The art piece was installed in the early hours on a Sunday morning and takes its place as a prime piece of London art.
